Since I set this up, I guess I'll go first....
I'm Carole, my husband is Clint, and the kids we have at home are Angelina (6), Alexander (5), and Christina (12 weeks). (My oldest, Richard, is 21 and living in Chicago now.) I was born in Texas, but raised in Ohio. My husband was born and raised just a couple of miles from here, and my three youngest were all born here. (All three in the water, two at the Swiss Ave. birthing center, the last one here at ABC.)
We're still newlyweds, having been married for just over a year. We live in Allen, and both (for the most part) work from home doing various things. (We both do some graphic design work, and Clint does some web design work as well. I also sew, and I intend to do a lot of scrapbooking this year.

Hi everyone,
I'm Sasha and I'm married to Miles - just over 5 years now and we have two little girls - Alexis who is three and Teagan who is almost 5 months. Both girls were born at home with Becky assisting.
I am originally from England, but moved here in 2001. I had spent much of 2000 here on business and I loved it so much I asked to transfer. Although I was born in England, I actually lived in South Africa for most of my childhood, moving back to England when I was 16. Texas reminds me much more of South Africa - the sun, the space, the standard of living etc. I love it
Work-wise, I am a very busy stay at home mum
Other than that, not much else to tell - I belong to the Lewisville chapter of MOMS Club where I am Membership VP which I really enjoy. I am also in the process of trying to convince my husband that we should add to our family...some days he's in agreement, others not...we'll see what happens! |

Wow! This is really cool!
I'll make this brief, as Lanam is fussing in the background...
My name is Tonia Pilliod, and my husband is Cason--he's currently doing the fussy-dance in the other room. We are also pseudo-newly-weds, as we will be celebrating our second anniversary in October. We are the proud parents of Lanam Nicholas, (my FIRST anniversary present to Cason) who reached the momentous occassion of his 2nd month just a couple of days ago. I am originally from Milwaukee, WI, and am a free-lance musician and violin/viola teacher at Hendrick Middle School in Plano. My husband was born and bred in Plano, TX, and we recently built a house up here in McKinney. How he convinced me to live out at the edge of the world, I'll never know, but here we are! |

I'm Tracy, My husband is James.
We have 1 DD Natalie, she's our 2 year old wonder... and Jameson is our newest addition to the family. He was born in June at the birthing Center.
I'm a stay at home mom and love it! Prior to having children I worked as a social worker for Big Brothers Big Sisters and before that I worked with Autistic children.
We are rather busy, my husband is a pastor at Providence Community Church in Plano, he is in sales for a website company, and he's a reserve officer in McKinney.
Oh and Sasha... James was in South Africa in Jan. He said it reminded him of Arizona but really green. |

I'm Wendy, a first-time mom to a wonderful little boy. Griffin was born at the birth center in March, with Amy attending.
I work PT from home (about 12 hours a week). My DH and I are both in the telecom industry.
I love to scrapbook, although I haven't done much since G was born. I am also learning photography and really want to improve. Poor Griffin has been my model more than he cares to be, I'm sure! I was also pretty active before he was born and am trying to find that balance again. I do run, although with breastfeeding that's not much fun. I think I am going to do the 5K run at "The Half" in November (anyone else want to?). I did it last year when I was pregnant and it was fun. |

Hi Friends,
I'm Karen and my husband is Chris. We welcomed Micah on April 29th- his estimated due date! To our surprise, Babs noticed that he turned at the last minute and we dashed from the ABC for an emergency c-section. Though a different birthing experience than envisioned, we couldn't have dreamed of a better outcome with our new baby boy!
I'm a native Dallasite and Chris was born in NM, though lived in TX mostly. We married 5 years ago and moved to McKinney. Since then, I've been a private tutor for K-5 students and also work PT at my husband's office (investment advisor/financial planner)- both of which I'm doing a little of currently. Before that, I spent 12 years teaching first graders-toothless grins galore!
We love so many of the things you all have mentioned in your introductions, too. We also enjoy nature, dance, origami, humor, travel, and want to learn about organic gardening among many other things. Right now we're quite busy with a sweet toothless grin of our own! |

I am christa and I am a painter. You can see my work at www.christadiepenbrock.com. I just finished my master of fine art about a year ago. I have started my own business teaching art, doing illustration and curating art schools (www.zimanarts.com).
I will be having my first kid hopefully in the next week or so at the Allen Birthing Center. I am excited about it but nervous as well. I don't see myself as "mom" so this should be interesting. All my friends have decided our kid will be a hell raiser if he is any reflection of his parents.
I have been with my husband for about 7 years and lived in Allen for about 6. I am happy we found the ABC because otherwise I would never considered having a baby.
I excited to meet everyone! _________________ Christa Ziman

Hi everyone! My name is Alana and I'm new to the Allen Birthing Center. My 2nd child is "due" sometime early October. I'm looking forward to a very different birth experience! I have one son named Easton who will be 2 in a few weeks and he is the light of my life! My husband and I are thrilled to have another on the way.
I'd love to hear about the experiences had at the the Allen Birth Center if anyone would like to share.
I'm glad this forum is here! Thank you!

Hi, I'm Janevieve and just had my first prenatal check-up at the ABC. We're expecting our second baby in April 2009. My husband and I have been together for 15 years, married for 5. We just moved to Texas in January from Illinois. Our daughter, Claire, is 16 months old and speaking words verbally and with signs - such a fun age.
There are no birthing centers in Illinois so we're really excited about all the new experiences we will have with ABC
I'm originally from Ireland, lived in Canada for 15 years and in the US for 4 years. We like cooking, camping, wine (oh, how I miss it) and nerdy things like science fiction and computer games.
p.s. I hope this forum is still active - I only see posts from 2007 mainly.
